For some reason Avast seems to be blocking a web site that it shouldn’t.How can I tell if it is an Avast problem or if something else is going on?I am using Avast v. 10.3.225.Or maybe somebody can explain how to Avast learn that this is an OK website? Thanks in advance… Pondus August 3, 2015, 1:56pm 2 what website?and what does avast say … is it URL:mal ? The website is… say’s:"Google Chrome is having trouble accessing the network. This may be because your firewall or antivirus software wrongly thinks Google Chrome is an intruder on your computer and is blocking it from connecting to the Internet.Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings. If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again"This is the only site that Avast or something blocks. Funny thing tho… it worked a few times yesterday. And if I use Safari for PC it works fine. Thanks for the help…Rich Pondus August 3, 2015, 2:35pm 4 never seen that message before ?seems like a avast / Chrome issue and not related to the website … tried with IE / Opera Thanks for looking and trying to help… It seems that if I go to Settings—>Active Protection—>Web Shield in Avast and turn off Web Shield I can get there with no problem. I entered the URL into the Exclusions portion of Avast but for some reason it did not work and the site still gets blocked.I really hate leaving it off but I don’t know what else to do… mchain August 4, 2015, 11:05pm 7 Could be a false positive but we would need to see a block by avast screenshot from you to know that. From what you say is avast firewall is blocking Chrome from accessing this site cannot be as you are turning off WebShield in order to access using Chrome. WebShield and your firewall are not the same thing. If it was your firewall blocking Chrome it would not work anywhere, not even this one particular site. Are you sure this warning is not a phishing attempt to get you to visit a malicious site elsewhere?A screenshot of this warning would help (provided you have WebShield turned on). How do I insert an image?I click on the “Insert Image Icon” in the above toolbar and I get these…What is it that goes between the two image tags? mchain August 5, 2015, 6:06pm 9 Attach your image you’ve saved to the Attach: box below: Here is the screen shot of my error message… mchain August 10, 2015, 4:59am 11 Thank you for the .jpg (pic). 2025-03-31Cannot use the embedded chat on the site and am forced to go to the actual url of the html5 version of our Chatango. This has been happening for the past week, and am hoping that Avast fix the web shield as this seems to be the issue.Thanks. system November 13, 2014, 4:41pm 14 Alright after another day of trying. I’ve tried to repair avast. I’ve clean installed, to no avail. It doesn’t fix the problem. I’m on Windows 7 Home Premium. It seems to work after I disable the web shield. Also, for some reason after doing the disable for 10 minutes, it won’t turn back on and hangs my computer. Can we please get an official response from Avast? Thanks system November 16, 2014, 3:19am 15 Still having issues as well. Did all the things Teddy did, and it’s Web Shield being ultra paranoid now ever since the 2015 update AND the patch. It’s affecting more than just one simple thing now, It’s blocking connections to all sorts of NORMAL stuff. Also Teddy, if you go into Settings, Active Protection, then Click it off for 10 minutes, do whatever it is you need to, and click the on button, it doesn’t hang or cause PC issues. It’s the ONLY work around I’ve found. And We the customers, shouldn’t have to FIND Work-Arounds…CAN WE PLEASE GET A PROPER MOD TO RESPOND TO THIS ALREADY?! I’m starting to feel like The people at Avast just don’t care! system November 28, 2014, 8:27pm 16 Hi,Just updated Avast, and now I am having the same problem.
