If you choose to use CouchPotato, be very aware of the potential legal consequences. CouchPotato has been the movie fix that I desperately needed as of late. But I know many Lifehacker readers view the world differently. I personally can’t see any justification for deliberately hunting down what will certainly be pirated copies of a movie that has just hit cinemas at your earliest convenience. Let’s not kid ourselves here - if you install this app or something similar, you’re going to be consciously and repeatedly breaking the law to access something which (unlike even TV) is otherwise only available as a paid-for product. Oz editor note: I’ll admit it: when I got this far into this post, the gleeful “Wow, piracy is easier than ever!” tone really bugged me. From what Ive read about SickBeard, its essentially CouchPotato. If the movie isn’t out yet, it’ll check back periodically until the movie is available, then download it for you. It can automatically download subtitles, trailers, and rename the final file to meet. CouchPotato automates the process: just tell it what movies you want to download, and it will search according to your quality and language specifications, find the perfect match, and download it for you. However, you might be able to just rename the DM file to MP3 and play it that way, but only if its a non-DRM file. If you’re a movie buff, though, you’re still stuck searching for and downloading movies manually. So you’ve gotten started with Usenet, and maybe you’ve even turned your computer into an internet PVR with Sick Beard.Windows/Mac/Linux: If you just saw an awesome movie in the theatres and want it on your computer as soon as possible, free app CouchPotato will look for it on Usenet and automatically download it as soon as a copy is available online.GitHub - itsDevKay/CouchPotato: CouchPotato was an online
Hello,I am currently having issues with the trancoding portion. I previously had this working partly as it would transcode but would not rename properly when the files were moved to Couch Potato. I did not change any settings but now nothing is working accurately. I will be attaching a copy of the script as well as a screen shot of my Couch Potato settings for review. I have been working at getting this to work for a few months to no avail. Also I am trying to do two instances of Couch Potato where one is for 3d movies and one is for non 3d so I need it to be able to work for both if that is possible. I also removed the api key's from the scripts and settings below for security purposes.
