Throughout the animal kingdom, almost every group, assemblage, gathering or congrex of animals has a special name assigned to it by mankind.sheep after they were shearedCows have herds, porcupines have prickles, fish come in schools and crows gather in murders. A group of sheep is no different. But just what is a group of sheep called?A group of sheep is called a flock. Sometimes a group of sheep might be called a herd, though this less common.Every sheep farmer knows that a group of sheep is called a flock. But have you ever wondered why it is called a flock and not something else? And what makes a flock different from a herd of animals that live on land? Do sheep instinctively flock? All these questions and more will be answered below!A Group of Sheep is Ordinarily Called a FlockAny gathering of multiple sheep can technically qualify for flock status, but the term is better used to describe a larger group. But generally, anytime you have a group of sheep together you can refer to them as a flock, big or small. But it Might be Called a HerdEvery now and then, you will hear people refer to a group of sheep as a herd. This is less common and usually used to describe a truly large group of sheep. It doesn’t really matter what you call it in casual conversation, as most folks will know exactly what you are talking about. However, flock is the word more commonly used and preferred term when referring to a group of sheep. In any case, savvy shepherds will definitely respect you more! The Term “Herd” is Typically Associated with CattleIt should be pointed out that the term “herd” is far more commonly used to refer to cattle, and a few other mammals like horses, goats and deer.Sheep are

Managing Node.js versionsHerd ships with nvm, the Node version manager, and allows the management of multiple Node.js versions on your machine. By default, Herd automatically installs the latest available version of Node.js for you.Herd requires a specific nvm version and can’t use existing nvm installations. If you are migrating from a previous nvm setup, please consult the Troubleshooting section if it doesn’t work as expected.Via the GUIYou may install and update the Node.js versions on your machine via the Herd GUI. Simply click on the button and Herd will take care of the rest.Via the CLIYou can use nvm on your command line to install, update and switch between Node.js versions any time. To switch to a different version, simply enter nvm use VERSION and nvm runs all required commands to change the version and make it accessible in your terminal. For more information about nvm, take a look at the official nvm documentation.Commands that you might use regularlyUpdating Node.jsIf you open the Node settings, Herd checks if there are new versions available and displays an update button next to every version that you can update.Herd uses nvm under the hood and this means that existing versions are kept when pressing the update button. The update downloads and installs the latest version and makes this one the preferred version for the related major version.Uninstalling Node.jsIf you want to uninstall a specific version, either consult the official nvm documentation or run the uninstall command from your terminal. You can verify which versions you have with the command nvm list. So if you want to uninstall node 18.20.4, run nvm uninstall 18.20.4.Uninstalling nvmIf you want to uninstall your previous non-Herd nvm, you have to make sure to remove the related environment variables NVM_HOME and NVM_SYMLINK. This also applies if you remove nvm that ships

Almost always referred to as a flock, not a herd. This is because sheep have an innate tendency to remain very close together when grouped, a topic we’ll learn more about in just a second.Aren’t Groups of Birds Referred to as Flocks? Why Sheep?Yes, they are. And as it turns out so are sheep! And there is a good reason for this. But to explain, we need to dig a little more into the term “flock” itself, its etymology and what it implies.Flock originates from the Old English word “floc” or “flocc” which means an assemblage of people and later on, animals. It is actually related to the modern Germanic word for “to fly”, as birds tend to scatter and move in unison when panicked or threatened. And there is the clue to why the word flock is used for sheep: flock, as opposed to herd, implies a higher degree of coordination among its constituent members.Sheep instinctively huddle together and move as a unit, especially when threatened, referred to as “flocking behavior”.Although “herding” and hence “herd” is often used synonymously with “flocking” and “flock,” flocking specifically implies more unity of purpose in movement and reactions among individual members. This unity of purpose is what makes “flock” somewhat special as nomenclature. That, and it is simply traditional by now, of course! All Sheep Have Strong Flocking InstinctsEach and every sheep is born with a strong flocking instinct, that is, the innate tendency to belong to, move and exist in a flock of other sheep.Even when separated from their herd for long periods of time, sheep will instinctively seek out other members of their species and join back up with them as soon as possible.Sheep Have Surprisingly Intricate Flock DynamicsWithin a flock, you might think individual sheep are just one of many, almost a hivemind like

Thorny bushlands thanks to their thick hide. However, their ideal habitat is an open area containing high grassy thickets with sparse woodlands and a permanent supply of water for wallowing. Buffalo graze on tall and coarse grasses with their long, prehensile tongues.Males are larger than females, weighing in at around 900kg and 500kg respectively. While adults are safe from most attacks, their young are vulnerable to predators such as leopards and spotted hyenas. Only lions are capable of bringing down a healthy adult buffalo, and not without the risk of being gored or trampled by an angered herd. Despite their large mass and stocky appearance, they can run at speeds up to 35 mph, allowing them to outrun a pursuing predator. The African buffalo roams in large herds that contain 500 to 2,000 individuals, far greater numbers than those of captive groups. Buffalo herds have established ranges that rarely overlap with the ranges of other herds. The social behavior among buffalo is highly cooperative; if a herd crosses into a solitary bull's territory, that bull will lead the herd through its land and then allow the next bull to take over at the boundary. Related herd members will often rest close together for protection. African buffalo tend to be quiet animals, except for grunts and bellows during the mating season. While African buffalo are generally placid, they will turn aggressive if injured or threatened. When threatened, the buffalo will aggressively shake its head, presenting its horns to the source of danger. An angry buffalo will also stamp its feet and charge. In a herd, this behavior is contagious; one provoked buffalo can quickly upset nearby herd members. With poor eyesight and hearing, these animals depend greatly upon their keen sense of smell, which can detect a predator 800 feet away.Zoo Tycoon 2[]The African Buffalo is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon 2 and was added as part of the African Adventure expansion pack. It is available from the start of Campaign and Challenge mode, as a half star animal. The African buffalo is a Wetlands animal but will also tolerate the Savannah and Grassland biomes to a lesser extent. Unlike the original Zoo Tycoon, the African buffalo can swim in Zoo Tycoon 2. Though it is able to be hunted by a single large predator, the African buffalo has coding to try and charge at any medium and large predators, specifically. At the time of his death, Wolf was an assistant coach with the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks' G-League affiliate.Wolf had an 11 year NBA career after being selected with the 13th overall pick, by the Los Angeles Clippers, in the 1987 NBA Draft. He played with nine different NBA teams including Milwaukee during the 1996-97 season. This came after a brilliant four-year college career at the University of North Carolina."The Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin Herd are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Herd assistant coach and Kohler native Joe Wolf," said the statement from the Bucks. "Throughout his life, Joe touched many lives and was a highly respected, adored and dedicated coach and player across the NBA. His well-regarded talent was instrumental for the Bucks and Herd over eight years with the organization, including as a player and coach."Before he became an All-ACC selection at North Carolina and a NBA player and coach, Wolf was a high school legend at Kohler. In a 2005 poll by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wolf was voted the greatest high school basketball player in Wisconsin history."With his size and skills, he was the best I've seen," Win Parkinson, who coached at Milwaukee Tech for 33 seasons, told the Journal Sentinel in 2005. "He was in the state tournament at the same time we were and I went to see him play at Sheboygan."He had a heck of a following and a heck of a career. I just look at him as one of the most complete players I've ever seen.". Issue with launching Herd, Initially I received an 'Problem Report' which encouraged me to reopen the application which only brought up the error message again. Herd was working perfectly fine yesterday no issues previously, only thing I have done since yesterday was switch macbook users, upon switching back to my work profile Herd was no longer launching. The following error message was provided by the Problem Report window:Here is a video of me attempting to open Herd, trying to exit the Problem Report, trying to run Hard Debug Logs and checking the activity monitor: /usr/lib/libobjc-trampolines.dylib 0x10579c000 - 0x1057affff CodeMirror-SwiftUI (1.0) /Applications/Herd.app/Contents/Frameworks/CodeMirror-SwiftUI.framework/Versions/A/CodeMirror-SwiftUI 0x10589c000 - 0x1058dffff org.sparkle-project.Sparkle (2.6.4) /Applications/Herd.app/Contents/Frameworks/Sparkle.framework/Versions/B/Sparkle 0x104908000 - 0x10511ffff de.beyondco.herd (1.11.0) /Applications/Herd.app/Contents/MacOS/Herd 0x18ed65000 - 0x18edacfff libdispatch.dylib (*) /usr/lib/system/libdispatch.dylib 0x18eb89000 - 0x18ec12507 dyld (*) /usr/lib/dyld 0x0 - 0xffffffffffffffff ???
