On my Android device I have a hosts update app. Sep 7, 2017 9:20 AM in response to ParkerInChina If mapping specific hosts to specific IP's is your requirement you will need to use an external device such as a portable Wi-Fi router. iOS can be set to get DNS from the router and the router will need the custom hosts setting up. You can set any DNS server within iOS's network settings, so you could try setting that to the international servers. If a connection is being modified by the state/ an ISP to filter certain requests I doubt you will get around that - it is normally more than just using specific DNS.
