What is FileRepMalware?According to Avast and AVG anti-virus suites, FileRepMalware is a malicious file and a potential threat to computers. At time of research, a test file was a fake KMSPico - a third party Windows OS activation tool. Previously, this malware was called "Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]".The "Win32" part indicates that the file is developed for the Windows operating system and, therefore, even if present, does not pose any threat to devices that run the Mac operating system. The "Evo-gen" part indicates a generic classification of trojan-type files.Although it is not confirmed, FileRepMalware might be a trojan. As mentioned above, FileRepMalware was proliferated with a fake KMSPico tool, which, rather than illegally activating an OS, downloads and installs adware.Potentially unwanted adware-type programs (PUPs) deliver intrusive advertisements (coupons, banners, pop-ups, and so on) and record sensitive information. Ads are delivered using various tools (e.g., "virtual layers") that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, most conceal underlying website content, significantly diminishing the web browsing experience. Furthermore, displayed advertisements often lead to malicious websites and can even run scripts that download/install malware. Clicking them might result in high-risk computer infections.Potentially unwanted programs are also known to gather various information that includes personal data. Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, Internet service providers (ISPs) geo-locations, URLs visited, queries entered into search engines, pages viewed, keystrokes, and other collected data is later shared with third parties to generate revenue. These people generate revenue by misusing confidential details. Therefore, information tracking can lead to serious privacyimpossible supprimer virus win32:evo-gen - Francais - Avast
I don’t know whats happening, everything was fine with my computer until this morning when I turned on my computer to say that there was a malware called " rootkit" in my temp file, please help on how to get rid of it. It happens every time I turn on the computer. HELP!!! the malware is called “win32:Rootkit-gen”The Original file names are mc227,mc230, mc241all the Original Location is at C:\WINDOW\TEMPthe size of the files are all 2560and all of the virus description is Win32:Rootkit-gen[R…Thanks for all help!!! Could be a false positive, could be infected files…Check other threads about the mc*.tmp files that are opened to discussion. For instance: and system July 25, 2008, 5:13pm 3 I am sorry but what is a false positive? I am totally clueless as to computers, SORRY!! Thanks for the reply A clean file that is identified as being infected by the antivirus. So it’s not really infected (positive detection), although the antivirus detect it as so (false detection). Does it make sense now? system July 25, 2008, 5:19pm 5 So what do I do in order to stop it from popping up on my computer every time I turn it on?and what what file should i upload in virustotal and how do i do it? I’m not sure it’s a false positive or not…I suggest:Disable System Restore and reenable it after step 3.Clean your temporary files.Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.Use SUPERantispyware, MBAM or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest avast! antirootkit or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.Make a HijackThis log to post here or, better, submit the RunScanner log to to on-line analysis.Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster or Windows Advanced Care.Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector. Two or three of them, one by one, click in the buttons of the www.virustotal.com page. system July 25, 2008, 8:42pm 7 avast! 2025-03-31Central App #8 Re: Android Antivirus for M8 ???OP You don't need anti virus of any kind on an Android device. I been using Android since the Nexus One and NEVER had the need for any sort of anti virus. I would completely overlook any anti-virus recommendations made to you by others on this thread.I do recommend Adblock Plus for Android if you're annoyed by pop ups or annoying advertisements. #9 Re: Android Antivirus for M8 ???Do I have to download an anti virus on my HTC m8 like Samsung?? Or they have already like iPhone no need an anti virus?? #10 Re: Android Antivirus for M8 ??? I've never used Antivirus on my phone before and in fact don't even use any active protection on my full on computers. They really don't have all that much of an effect on whether you get a virus or not, that comes down to what you click on, what you can be tracked into downloading etc... I've felt in recent years that the best option is to have some non active protection software that'll be able to clear out a virus if you get one, but that active protection, especially paid, is in no way worth it. Sent from my EVO using AC Forums mobile app er, no.Some viruses can infect legitimate sites and will transfer to you from legitimate websites. Google, Yahoo, Amazon, etc. That's probably the most common source of viruses on the people's computers. I've seen people that never do "dangerous" browsing get hit with nasty viruses, and have been hit by them myself. An anti-virus program, such as Avast!, will pick it up and deal with it immediately. If you have nothing...well, that's your choice, but I would like to kindly ask you to stop giving others this advice as it is truly not good. Since I work with computers and have done everything from basic repair/troubleshooting to full system and network builds, I can assure you that anti-virus software is an absolute necessity. #11 Re: Android Antivirus for M8 ??? er, no.Some viruses can infect legitimate sites and will transfer to you from legitimate websites.
