Free distressor plugin

I very rarely use that word, but Gregory's Deflector is a 100% go to for me for anything 'distressor' these days. #17 I found that adding an 1176 after the Fatso so the 1176 does the actual compression and the Fatso the distortion, it is really really sweet as well. That's why there needs to be a Fatso MK2, a Fatso with the 1176 MK2 algorithm built-in. #18 It's thanks to you Eric (saying that the fatso compression sounds like legacy 1176 compression) that I thought to try the mkII 1176 after the fatso to handle the compression. I've also enjoyed the AE rev on slo attack in all buttons mode!I don't have a Distressor to test it against, but combining the 1176 mkII as tone boxes after the fatso creates

The Fatso doesn't have the friendly mid level comp (6-8dB) that the Distressor has. It starts to pump too much. Just hitting it a bit, though, is quite Distressor like, but so is hitting it hard (10dB plus). On Fatso, use tracking comp mode, HP in the detector (120Hz, normally). Start with Warm 3. Lives for gear Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 598 🎧 20 years I prefer the MC77 to the UA when doing modern sounding rock and hiphop.The UA1176 is not as "in your face" and in general i like that but I think it is pretty boring sounding. The originals are way cooler. The Distressor is not as thick and I often think that is a good thing, I've grown tired of my mc77, great on bass though..Of the three I would pick the distressor, not in love with it but I kind of need it more than I want to..
