unlocking heros :: Has-Been Heroes General Discussions
Be their only items (or have allyour spell-related items go solely to them), but this is the general idea. x1 heroes are pulling double-duty. They're not only your tanks but also you'remain melee attackers. Generally their abilities revolve around their meleeattack; extra melee damage after a Backstab, melee burns target afterspell-casting, and so on. They also start with faster melee recharge speed, which puts a bit more emphasis on the fact that they're probably the guys whoshould be sent to attack once an enemy's Stamina has been broken. Don't forget, though, everyone uses spells in Has-Been Heroes, so don't let their meleeprowess make you think that they aren't also spell-casters. While you can build your party however you want, generally I like to have aspell for high-stamina targets and a spell for killing suicide bomber enemies. You can, of course, get away with not having either, but then you have to relyon getting one of these kinds of spells down the road. I wouldn't say "onlybuild your party this way," but if you're having a tough time, it might be worthgiving this way a shot. When you build your own party, keep in mind the elementsof each hero's starting spells and how those interact, and any weaknesses onehero may have that another can cover; that's the true way to build a strongparty.-------------------------------------Heroes In-Depth (s6):-------------------------------------As you play through the game, you'll not only unlock new heroes, but eventuallyvariants of your x2s and x1s as well. I'm going to speak about each hero moregenerally, though, since this guide is already gigantic enough. While Icertainly agree with this thought and fire and poison are a genuine threat, I'dargue that whether or not you should avoid fire and poison without immunity isdown to your own decision; if you use them with caution and wait for the statuseffects to run their course before melee attacking, they're not much of a dangerto yourself. 2025-04-24Whole series. Not only because it inherited the best part from its predecessors but also the dev put more fun elements into it. For example, you can now control you heroes not just where to go, but where and when to release their superpowers. Since every hero has his or her unique superpower, game experience is enriched to a new level. I’m a Hugh fan of previous series, but after playing Origins, I couldn’t go back to play them anymore.I hope Ironhide doesn’t abandon this game and add some new maps. Game resolution still needs adjusting The vertical resolution of the game (during actual gameplay, not the menu or the level selection map) is a bit larger than the iPad Pro display’s capability. This has been present since the game engine update was introduced a good while back. The horizontal fits exactly, but the vertical is a bit taller than the res. of the iPad and it occasionally moves the whole game field (up or down) when I tap (to build or upgrade) a tower. That is a huge annoyance, and it wasn’t like this before the game engine update. Can the devs not find a way to fix the vertical res. to match that of the iPad’s display? The other two games in the series that I have (KR HD, KRF HD) do not exhibit this problem/flaw. Still hoping this gets corrected at some point. 2025-04-23Inquisitor's Penance quest from Murry in /citadel. This allows you to access the portal room. If you've already completed this quest, you don't need to do it again.Enter the portal room in /citadel. Complete the new quest that appears above the monster in this room. This allows you to access the /tercessuinotlim map, and will let you use the /join command.Find Nulgath in /tercessuinotlim and complete his new quest. This unlocks access to all of the NPCs in the zone.Note: These must be completed in order to access the Tercessuinotlim map and the NPCs within, even if you've been in the map before. And now... the reason for the changes after so many years. One of the most notable changes is the inclusion of two new quests that serve as an introduction to Nulgath. With the introduction of additional NPCs to /tercessuinotlim over the years and the fact that Nulgath is located deep in the map, we found that most heroes would first encounter other NPCs before Nulgath and get confused as to what the objective of the area was. This update aims to alleviate that confusion by adding a clearer direction on what to do upon entering the map. For starters, upon entering /tercessuinotlim for the first time, all NPCs except Oblivion are hidden until Nulgath is spoken to first, with Oblivion initially serving as a sort of guide that tells the hero to find Nulgath. Once Nulgath is found and spoken to, all NPCs become accessible as they were previously. Nulgath Introduction Quests The following quests have been added:Beyond the Portal: Defeat Death's Head to unlock the /tercessuinotlim map.Contract With the Abyss: Simply accept and turn in to unlock the /tercessuinotlim NPCs.Citadel UpdatesThe Grand Inquisitor's Penance quest now rewards a misc item that acts as a guide toward the portal room. This item serves no other purpose. In order to enter the portal room, the Grand Inquisitor's Penance quest from Murry now must be completed.Bone Dust is no longer required to enter the portal room.Death's Head has been added to the portal room and their HP and damage has been increased.Added a new quest called "Beyond the Portal" to Death's Head. Completing this quest unlocks access to the /tercessuinotlim map.Casparilla has been relocated to /tercessuinotlim.The Hologram of Polish NPC will no longer appear until the Contract With the Abyss quest has been completed.Tercessuinotlim UpdatesThe map can now be accessed with the /join command after completing the Beyond the Portal quest.Death's Head has been promoted to portal guard and has been replaced with a Dark Makai.Shadow of Nulgath has evolved (it's a late bloomer!), level reduced to 50.Oblivion has been moved (back) to the entrance and has been given new introductory
2025-04-07Defenders are important when you are trying to protect your dungeon's chest. Having a strong team can allow you to gain trophies and prevent the loss of currency: gold and Honor. The gems inside of your chest can never be stolen. They are safe anytime, unless the unlikely event happens where you lose all of your gold and honor, and the only left to be taken are gems. Preparation Checklist[]When making a defender team for your dungeon, you always want to make sure you account for~Level[]For a successful defense it's a good idea to have the Hero Level of the defending heroes maximized. You want to have your defenders powerful, don't you? Level them up to the Player Level. Give them some XP Potions if needed to make them strong! When you heroes are at the maximum level check their abilities. Abilities should be maximized, too. They need to be leveled up with gold to be effective. All abilities' power increases with their levels.Ascensions[]Make sure your defenders have as many Ascensions as possible. Look for Evos to ascend them. Each Ascension unlocks a special attack (an Ability), boosts base stats a bit, and often unlocks a Trait, or two or three! These traits (also known as Passives) are very important for team synergies and get a big stat boost or gain immunities. Or just to get more fire power to strike back with boosted damage and damage multipliers. Several heroes need to be fully ascended (2 times) to gain their true power. Keep that in your mind, Boss!Collect hero tokens to increase the star rating of your defenders, Boss!Hero Stars ★★★★☆☆[]The rule is simple: The more hero stars your defenders have the better they can defend your dungeon! Hero stars give a boost to all stats including runes. The more stars
2025-04-02(using the old price of villagers). Also, unlocks training of Citizens for 70 coin.Buenos Aires: 1,000 resources. Also, unlocks Lombards (except for Italians as they already have them). Trading Post Wagons are worth more in practice due to how much walking units need to do to get to the locations to build them.Hire Italian Elmetti: 1,800 resources.Hire Li'l Bombards: 1,300 resources.Criollos: 1,200 resources. 2,800 resources including unit upgrades (Spanish Musketeers are upgraded automatically each Age) if using them instead of Musketeers. Also, unlocks Spanish Musketeers at Forts (most relevant for Germans has they have no base access to musket infantry).Outlaw Band: Random.San Martin: 2,550 resources. Also, ships the hero San Martin.Infinite[]Cattle Drivers: 1,360 resources if using the Homestead Wagon to build an Estate. Also, +8 Cow train limit and the Cows arrive with + 150 food on them.16 Revolutionaries: 1,600 resources. Effectively worth less as time goes on as Revolutionary stats are pretty bad when the other units get their unit upgrades.4 Gatling Guns: 1,120 resources. Also, high utility if a backline high dps unit is really needed, especially versus infantry.2 Ironclads: 1,760 resources. Also, high utility, due to the great stats of ships. Also, trainable Ironclads are balanced around a train limit of 1.1 Fort Wagon: 1,100 resources. Effectively worth more because Forts are balanced around not being infinite.3 Mortars: 1,350 resources.7 Lancers: 1,000 resources. 1,400 resources for Spanish. Worth a lot less after Blandengues is sent.Possible opening strategies for Argentina include (some points may be used sequentially):Immediately send San Martin, as it is a very strong card and starts generating value over time with the hero's actions. Works better if the player has pre-emptively researched Folk Heroes for the Mounted Grenadiers.Send the Mortar related cards to deal as much infrastructure damage as possible with the initial rush.Start focusing on the food economy beginning with either Granaderos or Citizenship. Use Landgrab and/or Cattle Drivers to make a mass transition to Mills, Livestock Pens, and Estates (though try not to make too many Estates). Then, send Buenos Aires to allow converting food into wood and coin (food gathers faster than the other resources, especially if using livestock). Finally, send Trattoria at the end of the economy transition, as it is weaker than the other economic cards and it doesn't support exponential growth.Prepare several shipments and resources to afford them and research Folk Heroes before revolting, then revolt and use the powerful unit shipments. Notably, this is probably the best time to send 16 Revolutionaries, as although it is an infinite shipment, it is actually the best early, when non-Revolutionary units lack their unit upgrades.Immediately send Citizenship and reboom. This is mainly a strategy for if the player has previously sent Germantown Farmers (especially along with Medicine), as this makes this a fast process. In any case, the support of artillery may be needed, and Argentina offers good options for that. If the initial all-in attack fails, Argentina also offers economic support shipments that focus mainly on livestock, so the player may
