MediaPro is going to become MS Expression Media with the next release; to be honest I've been a little miffed at iView for taking so long to add some needed features (like an "undo" button) and do important bug fixes - maybe MS will give them the added elbow grease they need to get it geared up. Several times I've emailed support with bugs and then received responses such as "I'll pass that along to the developers - thanks, bye!" #5 Aside from the low-quality previews and the initial wait while it's building them, I'm pretty happy with Bridge. CS3 Bridge will address the preview quality issue (too buggy for regular use right now, though), so I'll probably be sticking with it.It will be interesting to see what MS does with IView Media Pro though. Have tried Iview Media Pro several time (after reading the DAM Book), but like to be able to view pictures without adding them to a database. Worked well but that is too expensive for an amateure. I curious about what MS will do with Iview and maybe I'll give it another chance. #14 I use iView MediaPro also. It will track offline files (e.g. CDs, DVDs and external HDs.It seems to be the most powerful and robust catalog tool available. But it has a steep learning curve. And it lacks a feature I think is sorely needed - "stacks" (i.e. multiple versions of an image treated as a unit).I have heard good things about Aperture, and I'm sure it is much easier to learn, but it's only available for Mac. -- Russ #15 I started using photoshop version 1 in 1991 and and now use CS2. It is the benchmark and standard. Photoshop will be around long after Aperture, Nikon Capture, NX and others disappear.
