I suggest following steps:Launch Kindle and under the menu choice "Tools", "Options", "General", uncheck "Automatically install updates when they are available without asking me."Exit the Kindle program.Delete the contents of the "My Kindle Content" folder within your "Documents" folder.Download version 1.17 of Kindle. It is safest to download it directly from Amazon, instead of going to a third party site. So, i booted into recovery, wiped system / davlik / cache, and flashed a new rom. Pretty standard stuff.However, I noticed that for some reason or another it failed to flash (code 7 or something; it was one of the nightly roms for otter)So I decided to look around and I found this: followed instructions; Flashed the bootloader, and rebooted. However, I noticed that the kindle didn't boot back into recovery (despite me selecting it.), or, for that matter, turn back on automatically at allNo problem, right? I power on my kindle and the power menu thingy shows up at the bottom. I notice the interface is a lot more simplistic; I assumed simply because I didn't have a rom. I scroll down to recovery and the kindle powers off. That's it. I wait for it to power back on and happily boot into recovery, but it turns out it simply powered off. I power back on and retry, same result.I then turn to kindle fire utility to hopefully help me out; however, my pc can't detect my kindle now, and the drivers won't install.So I'm stumped.
