Luke admitted that while he tried to have Percy killed and the Bolt delivered to Kronos, he felt that Percy proved that he was just as determined as he was and ask that he join him in his quest to destroy the gods. Percy refused and the two fought with Annabeth, who trusted Luke more, stopping the fight. This was only possible because Percy trusted Luke with Annabeth's knife. This is the same knife that he gave her when she was little.
