Samplitude/Sequioa has been doing this since about 1992. This is the big deal. That & being a non-destructive editor when Soundesigner was still doing destructive edits. I used to capture audio & do restoration in CoolEdit.2) a more general point. SAMDEV does not talk about their audio engine, ever. However, those in the know have been able to figure out that key parts of the Samplitude sound is 80 bit processing in key parts of the audio engine. As far as I know, nobody else is doing that, and it means that Sequioatude is probably running an an engine far more accurate then almost any DAW (PTHD included). Sampie has also had "Elastic Audio" & the Spectral tool for several versions now (from 7 or 8 I forget which).Last point: Sequoia main market niche is in mastering. It looks to be eating into the SADIE/SonicStudio market share. As such, it is not a direct competitor with PT (although it could be).At this point Audition (which may be a fine application) is an orphan of to many corporate ownership changes. The whole null test between sequencers is a VERY hard test to do correctly so it's always funny when people say "Daw A nulls with Daw B , your ears are wrong". as far as I have seen, Samplitude has never nulled with anyone (double negative, is that good grammer? ). When you write a query you might write WHERE column IS NOT NULL and before this PG17 change, Postgres would always evaluate even if it knew there couldn’t be any NULLs in the table. As of Postgres 17, Postgres is a lot smarter when a column has the constraint IS NOT NULL and avoids doing unnecessary work in that scenario. New to Postgres 17, vacuum will now produce less WAL by volume in terms of number of bytes—thereby taking up less space on disk and speeding up replay.
