Gustavwiz last edited by Opera versions 1 - 12 are based on the Presto rendering engine. But then Opera decided to re-create the browser from the beginning, based on Chromium. They jumped two version numbers and the first new, chromium based version was Opera 15. But as they created it from the beginning, many features were lost, so it's like a whole new browser. So, the latest version of the "old Opera" is Opera 12.16 (or 12.17, depends on OS), but the latest version of the "new Opera" is 29.Opera Presto: Version 1 - 12Opera Chromium (Blink): Version 15 - 29Opera 12 has many features, but is outdated, and stability, compatibility and security is not good. With Opera 29, it's the opposite. Therefore, you may experience that many sites doesn't look well in Opera 12, so I recommend that you install Opera 29 too, and try to get used to it.Opera joins Supporters of Chromium
This README explains how to build a custom native library for Opera Desktop.Due to platform limitations, we have different build instructions for differentdesktop platforms.Mac build instructions----------------------First extract the archive, put downloaded Opera ().app inchromium/src/out/Release subdirectory of the extracted folder, rename"Opera .app" to "Opera.app" so that the final product can findit. Then download libopera.a built for Mac for the same version (extract it froma zip archive if that's what you downloaded), and put it in the same directoryas Opera.app.After that following commands can be used to build the open source part of Operabrowser. Since a large amount of this is based on Chromium open source project, you can refer to their website ( for furtherinformation about how to tweak certain build parameters. git clone export PATH="$PATH":`pwd`/depot_tools export GYP_GENERATORS=ninja cd opera-/chromium/src tools/clang/scripts/update.sh build/gyp_chromium -I ../../desktop/opera_global.gypi \ --depth=. ../../desktop/opera_source_release.gyp ninja -C out/Release opera_frameworkWindows build instructions--------------------------To be able to run the final product of Windows build, you need to obtain adynamically linked Opera build (shared library version) provided along with thissource code package. From provided sources you may build dlls for the opensource parts, and replace the ones from Opera with them. cd chromium\src\build python gyp_chromium -Dcomponent=shared_libraryOpen all.sln in Visual Studio 2010. From this solution you are able to modifyand build dll libraries in "Release" configuration and then replace them withthe ones in Opera shared library installation.. Burnout426 Volunteer last edited by burnout426 I did some testing. "Display Opera in this language" option isn't available in Chromium-based browsers on Linux (like Chrome, Chromium, Vivaldi, and Opera). It's available on the Windows versions though. With that said, on Linux, you have to use the --lang=code command-line switch. After adding German to opera://settings/languages and moving it to the top, I closed Opera and tested --lang=de with Opera and it works as expected. The UI was in German. This also worked for me in Vivaldi. I couldn't get it to work for Chrome and Chromium though for some reason. I tested on Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.1.On a side, I tried setting app_locale to de in the "Local State" file in the profile folder, which seems to be what Windows does for the "Display Opera in this language" option, but that didn't help. So, I guess it's indeed required to use the --lang command-line switch.is opera gx chromium based How does the integration of Chromium

We use LastPass and I believe there is an Opera Extension. I am asking as my CHROME Browser seems to have some web page display issues.
