Updated January 21, 2021 09:43 Apple recently added a feature to Safari that helps prevent ads, tracking, and other “3rd party” cookies. This feature, called Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP), uses machine learning and profiling to categorize sites and cookies based on the habit of both how the user and the website interact with each other. This feature, unfortunately, can cause interruptions when a site uses an authentication service such as Google, which can lead to an error known as “Too many redirects”. This error occurs as Safari’s new ITP is blocking authentication checks between Google and services such as Securly. We were able to reproduce this issue on sites such as Google Drive and other sites using Google Single Sign-On authentication. The following is the Official response from Google about ITP"It is a known Safari issue that can cause interruptions when a site uses an authentication service such as Google, which can lead to an error known as "Too many redirects". For more information, please follow this official Apple Support article: can we resolve this problem? At this time, due to limitations caused by this new feature, the only way to assure that you will not be affected by the “Too Many Redirects” error is to turn off a feature inside Safari known as Prevent cross-site tracking. It has also come to our attention that Apple’s latest developer release of Safari has disabled this feature upon installation. Or you can use other browsers such as Chrome and Firefox which have not yet reported this problem. I use google to search but it seems to redirect to a different search engine (For Google Chrome it redirects to yahoo and Safari it redirects to a couple of domains but ultimately lands on safesearch.com). When I switch the default search engine to duckduckgo, yahoo, etc, it doesn't seem to redirect to the domains (Only Google). I ran the MalwareBytes scan but it didnt find anything suspicious. I read the Removing "Search Marquis" / "Search Baron… - Apple Community article and provided the screenshots, but ultimately I don't know what I'm looking for in these files and if they are considered malicious. Common Issues with Safari on iPadSafari is a popular web browser that comes pre-installed on iPad devices. However, like any software, it can occasionally encounter issues that may prevent it from working properly. Here are some common issues that users experience with Safari on iPad:Crashing: Safari may unexpectedly crash or freeze while browsing the internet.Slow performance: Pages may load slowly or take a long time to respond to user input.Website compatibility issues: Some websites may not display correctly or have limited functionality when accessed through Safari on iPad.Connection errors: Safari may display error messages indicating a problem with the internet connection even when other apps are working fine.Security concerns: Pop-ups, redirects, or suspicious links may appear, indicating a potential security issue.Encountering these issues can be frustrating, but fortunately, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to fix them and get Safari back up and running smoothly. It’s worth noting that these solutions are applicable to most iPad models running the latest iOS versions. In the following sections, we will explore some effective methods for resolving these common Safari issues on your iPad. Please note that if one method doesn’t work for you, you can proceed to the next until you find a solution that works.Clearing Safari Cache and CookiesOne of the simplest solutions to many Safari issues is to clear the cache and cookies. Over time, the cache and cookies stored by Safari can accumulate and potentially cause conflicts or slow down the browser. Clearing them can help resolve issues related to slow loading times, website compatibility, and even security concerns. Here’s how you can clear the cache and cookies on Safari for iPad:Open the Settings app on your iPad.Scroll down and tap on “Safari.”Under the “Privacy & Security” section, tap on “Clear History and Website Data.”A pop-up will appear, asking

When I click on a car listing , it usually opens up in new tab. Well all of a sudden it just opens a blank new tab. Have restarted computer, cleared history, cache. Don't know what else to do. Mac mini 2018 or later Posted on Oct 3, 2021 7:57 PM Posted on Oct 4, 2021 2:23 PM @stilltrell, I am having this issue too in Safari 15. This only seems to be happening in Tab Groups, not in the main tab area. Here's what I see happening ... if you go to Safari > Preferences > 'New tabs open with' there are 4 options:Start PageHomepageEmpty PageSame PageI am finding that in Safari 15 Tab Groups (new feature), ALL new tabs open with whatever you have set above. When you click the carfax link (or any link that opens in a new tab), watch the address bar. It looks like it opens the link and then quickly redirects to your new tab setting above. From what I can tell it's a bug and I do not have a solution. The work around is to right click on the link, 'Copy Link', and paste it into the new tab to open. Here is the Reddit Thread on the issue: Similar questions Safari doesn't open links -> opens "start page" Often, not always, when I try to follow a link to new Tab the tab shows the name of the page it is opening, but changes to Starting page before opening. This is new and started after Monterey update. This is super annoying and messes up my work. What is going on? Any ideas? Thanks, 1278 3 All
