Hi guys,I’m encountering an issue with some APs which are being monitored via a Ubiquiti UniFi Controller. APs are currently running on version 3.3.17.3991 for this particular client. I’m aware that newer versions are available as I have a particular client currently running on version 4.0.42.10433.Issue is here, when I access the Ubiquiti UniFi Controller I get the warning under the status column that an is required (see picture below).Once I hover over the upgrade under the version column, and request an upgrade, I’m promted if I want to the upgrade. Upon confirming, the AP is marked as ‘Updating (Downloading)’, (see pics below).Upon completion the version number remains the same even though the uptime starts from scratch. With regards to the controller I beleive I’m running the latest version, being 5.10.25.0.Any idea why this is happening? Thanks Spiceheads! I have had the same issue earlier with UniFi and had to do it manually by logging into each device and run the update.HowTO: it should be working from the controller, sometimes it doesn’t. I used the SSH method on the devices and it worked. I have had the exact same issue. I upgraded the same way Moccamaster did. I used Winscp to connect to the AP and upload the firmware then used the instructions posted above to install the firmware via command line. I had a similar issue. Just needed to update the unfi software running on the server. shaa2998 (Shaa Moore) June 28, 2019, 9:19am 5 Same here manual upgrade via ssh sometimes. I have also cached the firmware on the controller first then ran the upgrade with successAnother thing that has worked for places with a lot of web filtering, when doing the upgrade via SSH, use http for the download address instead of https. brianinca (Brianinca) June 28, 2019, 12:17pm 6 I’ve seen this happen when the AP has a local time differential to the controller. Make sure your AP’s clocks are set correctly, then try again. Try clicking each ap device and on cog/manage tab you can update firmware with a url link to the firmware on ubuquiti site. You can then go on the Ubiquiti website support and look for the firmware there which should be a https prefix link - try pasting that in the field and hit update firmware and see if that works, if not remove the “s” from the “https” link and try again in.I usually did it this way if the default update method didn’t work and I would have success with either link. I did not have to SSH that way. jclambert1 (jcLAMBERT) July 2, 2019, 3:26pm 8 If the devices are 'too far behind" in firmware, sometimes you cannot update them via the controller. As mentioned above, you can ssh to the box and update the firmware directly. You may have to do it in stages… i.e. Incremental firmware upgrades.

Send disconnections requests to the gateway: in addition to forcing disconnections, it also sends a radius disconnection request to the gateway. Some types of gateways (e.g. Ubiquiti) may not send the stop to the radius and consider the device always active. If enabled, the gateway has to be reachable for the UDP port indicated in the “Guest Hotspot” paragraph.Port for disconnection requests: port used by the gateway to accept disconnection requests. It is usually the 3799 but can vary depending on the type of gateway. It is the same one configured in the “Guest Hotspot” paragraph and opened in the firewall at the beginning of Step 5 in the “Downloading the Configuration Files” paragraph.Check consumption by users: If the gateway does not support all the necessary radius attributes and the appliance is able to send disconnection requests (points listed above), it periodically checks the consumption of the logged-in users and if time/traffic limits are reached or at expiration, disconnects the user.Configuring the NetworkStep 1From
