@gonwkThanks for your help.I am on service pack SP3 for windows XpIn the past, when directx for end user came out, like Aug08, I would install it in August and it would execute and that was it.I was going to do the same for version Nov08 in November but that did not work. Here is what is happening:In version Aug08 I have it on my desktop when I execute it, it starts the process and then asks me where do I want to install directx end user Aug08 on the computer. In the past it automatically installed. In version Nov08 I am using the web install setup install version (295kb) and then trying to install the Nov08 version. The web install version tells me this:Setup could not download the file. Please retry later or check network connection. So I am lost. Are you supposed to update directx when a new version of directx end user comes out, like in Aug08 and in Nov08? Does SP3 update directx automatically? The computer said nothing about updating, I thought it is something you were supposed to do in Aug08 and in Nov08.Where am I going wrong?. if you open your task manager, does it say Osbuddy 64 (32bit) ? if so. go to your osbuddy folder and delete the java folder(s). uninstall your java and re-run the OSBuddy client. Where I was commenting on some unfortunate soul's poor "grammer" haha mpoirier wrote:You know what I mean. It does not install "properly"...The title implies that the installer would not initialize, the install failed with an error, or at most that the program would not launch right after install. Your problem is instead that the "export" option perma-hangs the program. The lack of icons in the start menu is, while not obvious to someone in your position, tangential to the issue at hand, as I experienced the behavior during my install on Win8 Pro x64 but export works fine. Still, this does not diminish the severity of your problem.mpoirier wrote:After MANY uninstall / re-install of the "latest" versions of both Gopro studio and Quicktime. But still, I can tell it seems to be a frustrating and not easily solved problem.mpoirier wrote:No special screen to show, it's the Gopro studio standard little popup dialog that does nothing !Huh? A bit confused here. I thought you said "the [export] option will just sit there doing nothing until I kill the process in Task Manager" ie the program hung/locked up, but now you are saying it pops up a "standard little popup dialog"? What does this dialog say/look like? When/where does it happen? I don't see where you described it earlier. When you click the export option, does it instantly hang at that point or does something come up, then it hangs? Or do you pick your preset and tell it where to save the file, and then it hangs? This is why I wanted a screenshot since your response was not clear on this (and nor did you even mention the "standard little popup dialog" when describing the hang before). If anything but the latter then I am afraid you will be unable to implement Steve's suggestion. But if so, you can also try the "Archive/Edit" option for export (ie AVI-muxed Cineform), sometimes that works when the others do not.mpoirier wrote:I don't know why I am telling you all this, does not seem you are eager to help...Not sure how you got this impression. Can you give me a click by click guide just for reinstalling settings and playlists? Whether you're using the portable or installed version, it's totally possible to simply copy the relevant musicbee folders from one computer/os to another. As long as your MP3 files are in the same directory after the os reinstall as before, simply make a copy of the following folders:C:\Users\%USER%\Music\MusicBeeC:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBeeC:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Roaming\MusicBeeC:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Local\MusicBeeAfter you've installed your new OS, install Musicbee just to create all the registry entries and then copy back and replace the above mentioned folders and everything is just as it was before.I know this is not technically the "correct" way of doing it but it works and it's simple.Where Does Melodyne Install VST? #2 MSI Live Update is a great utility.....when it works right. Which tends to be rarely. If it was me, I'd uninstall MSI Live Update, then go straight to the support site and manually download and install the driver from there. Here's the thing. Rarely do you realistically NEED to update drivers to have a system run. Once stable drivers are developed, they generally only release updates if an issue is found. Which tends to be rare.Stick to manually updating your drivers. You'll have less issues down the road. The only one I might update often might be the graphics card driver, simply because that can help with games. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about updating them until you run into an issue. #3 That's not really answering my issue, off course. LiveUpdate is only applying the updates that you can also install manually. I not always install what LiveUpdate is suggesting. So it does not make much difference if I install updates through LiveUpdate or manually, because basically it are the exact same updates that are being installed...Annyway, if someone has a concrete solution for this error, feel free to answer... #4 Uninstall your current drivers.Install the drivers from your CD and see if the error continues. If it does, reinstall Windows.Enjoy! #5 tomvdj date=1489237481 said: That's not really answering my issue, off course. In theory you are correct, however I experienced issues where installing via LiveUpdate doesn't install the driver correctly, as it either tries to reboot before its complete or it doesn't register the installation properly. Many drivers require that you use the update to uninstall the old driver, reboot, install the new driver, reboot, and then finalize. This procedure doesn't work correctly with LiveUpdate.I would install the driver via download to see if that works better. #6 darkhawk date=1489241345 said: Uninstall your current drivers.Install the drivers from your CD and see if the error continues. If it does, reinstall Windows.Enjoy! FIRST: make sure that Basecamp is installed on your Mac. The Basecamp install will also place MapManager and MapInstall in your Applications folder. Now, after downloading the .gmapi file, simply double-click it. This should start the MapManager program, which will ask if you want to install the map. If this doesn't happen, something is wrong with your Basecamp installation and some troubleshooting is needed. But ifComments
