Hi Splunkers,I am sending Cisco WSA data via syslog to a Heavy Forwarder in squid format. The data is getting there but it is not getting parsed correctly by the add-on. The current add-on, Splunk Add-on for Cisco WSA v3.3.0 ( supports parsing via the ftp of the file but not the syslog solution. Looks like the regex works up to x_resp_dvs_verdictname then fails.Has anyone been successful in parsing Cisco WSA data or is up to this Regex challenge? Here is the REGEX from the add-on:REGEX = (?[0-9.]+)\s+(?[0-9]+)\s+(?[a-zA-Z0-9:.]*)\s+(?[A-Z_]*)\/(?[0-9]*)\s+(?[0-9]*)\s+(?\w*)\s+(?\S*)\s+["|']?(?[^\s"']+)["|']?\s+(?[^\/]+)\/(?\S*)\s+(?\S*)\s+(?\S*)\s+(?:[^,]+),(?[^,]+),["|']?(?[0-9]{0,2}|\-|\w+)["|']?,["|']?(?[^,"']+)["|']?,(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),["|']?(?[^,]+?)["|']?,(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),["|']?(?[^,]+?)["|']?,(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),["|']?(?[^,]+?)["|']?,["|']?(?[^,]+?)["|']?,(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),["|']?(?[^,]+?)["|']?,["|']?(?[^,]+?)["|']?,["|']?(?[^,"']+)["|']?,["|']?(?[^,"']+)["|']?,["|']?(?[^,"']+)["|']?,["|']?(?[^,"']+)["|']?,["|']?(?[^"',]+)["|']?,(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),["|']?(?[^,"']+)["|']?,["|']?(?[^,"']+)["|']?(,["|']?(?[^,"']+)["|']?,["|']?(?[^"']+)["|']?,(?[^,]+),(?[^,]+),["|']?(?[^,]+?)["|']?,["|']?(?[^"',]+)["|']?)?(,["|']?(?[^"',]+)["|']?)?(,(?[^,]+),["|']?(?[^"']+)["|']?)?(?:>|>)\s*(?-|["|']?[^"']+["|']?)?\s*(?[0-9]*)?[^\r\n]*$Here's some example data from my environment:Jan 8 07:37:35 server.com Jan 08 07:37:34 server.com wsa_access_logs_splunk: Info: 1578497849.565 51 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx NONE_SSL/504 0 POST - DIRECT/device.com - OTHER-NONE-eun_internal_group-NONE-NONE-NONE-DefaultGroup-NONE -Jan 8 07:37:35 server.com Jan 08 07:37:34 server.com wsa_access_logs_splunk: Info: 1578497849.513 101 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx NONE_SSL/200 0 TCP_CONNECT xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:443 - NONE/- - OTHER-NONE-NONE-NONE-NONE-NONE-NONE-NONE -Jan 8 07:35:34 server.com Jan 08 07:35:34 server.com wsa_access_logs_splunk: Info: 1578497734.661 0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx TCP_DENIED_SSL/403 0 POST - NONE/- - BLOCK_ADMIN_HTTPS_NonLocalDestination-NONE-NONE-NONE-NONE-NONE-NONE-NONE -I appreciate the help with this one.Thanks,. However, this feature has not yet been fully integrated into the stable version as of now. Microsoft announced that they will discontinue support for WSA by March 5, 2025.In other words, it ended before it even started. Why was WSA discontinued? There are several reasons for this, one of which is the most straightforward explanation. Microsoft was not finding enough benefit from this system, as there was a separate department dedicated to it, which incurred significant expenses.Another way WSA could be discontinued is by replacing the Google Play Store with the Amazon Store. This serves no special purpose and users are not comfortable with it.Apart from that, another reason that might shock you is that WSA was challenging to use and configure on its own. Many users faced issues with it, and those who managed to get it working had to deal with more trouble. There are several other reasons, but the crux of the matter is that the future of WSA looks bleak. I bought mine 2 years ago. There could be better options in the market which use better technology like APTX-HD, LDAC, BT5.0, or UAT. Prior to the HomeSpot, I used "Dayton Audio Wave-Link WLS System 2.4 GHz Full Range Wireless Pair". That Wave-Link was noisy, had intermittent signal interruptions, and had very noticeable latency. If you already have that WAS-5TR, then give it some trial period and see if the latency is acceptable to you. For movies, latency is not critical. If you listen to multi-ch audio (SACD, DVD-Audio multi-ch) you will get annoyed by any latency.Edit: As jhaider mentioned, the Parasound Z-Amp is another cheaper option for auto-on/off amp. #16 Great tip man!For Wireless transmitter/Receiver, I was planning use this Dynasty ProAudio WSA-5TR 5.8G Wireless Audio because it uses 5.8G connection and avoid 2.4G interferences.do you think this HomeSpot Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver Set with APTX Low Latency is a better option? Question: How does the Layer 4 Traffic Monitor block traffic if it is only receiving mirrored traffic? Environment: Layer 4 Traffic Monitor - L4TM configured to block suspicious traffic Solution: The Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) has a built-in Layer 4 Traffic Monitor (L4TM) service that can block suspicious sessions across all network ports (TCP/UDP 0-65535). To be able to monitor or block these sessions traffic must be redirected to the WSA, either by using a TAP (Test Access Port) device, or by configuring a mirror port on network devices (SPAN ports on Cisco devices). L4TM in-line mode is not supported yet. Even though traffic is only mirrored (copied) from the original sessions to the appliance, the WSA can still block suspicious traffic by either resting a TCP session or sending ICMP "host unreachable" messages for UDP sessions. For TCP sessions When the WSA L4TM receives a packet to or from a server and the traffic matches a Block Action, L4TM will send a TCP RST (reset) datagram to the client or server depending on the scenario. A TCP RST datagram is just a regular packet with the TCP RST flag set to 1. The receiver of a RST first validates it, then changes state. If the receiver was in the LISTEN state, it ignores it. If the receiver was in SYN-RECEIVED state and had previously been in the LISTEN state, then the receiver returns to the LISTEN state, otherwise the receiver aborts the connection and goes to the CLOSED.
